Overview | In 1820, Ginzaemon Kita started our brewery in Koto plain, Ohmi. Ginzaemon used to buy the Ohmi-brand rice from local farmers, brew sake and did business in the neighborhood. Our brand name was “Temmaya” at the time. Since then, the Kita family has been brewing sake for more than 200 years. Its brand name “Kirakucho” has a meaning of wishing our customers to enjoy the sake and and live a long life. |

Mr. Naohiko Noguchi (87) is so-called "The God of Sake" as a living legendary sake brewing meister and came back to sake industry again in 2017 since his retirement in 2012. In 2008, he got "Ohjyuhoushu", a Metal with Yellow Ribbon from Japan government for his distinguished achievement as a sake meister. |

"Yoshinotomo" means friends of Yoshida family, which represents their philosophy to enjoy delicious sake with good friends. In order to make delicious sake, Yoshinotomo is an early adaptor to brew Junmai sake since around '60 and nowadays all its sake are 100% Junmai sake, which indicates their highly professional craftsmanship to pursue their taste of sake. |
